Philatelic stamps of India are issued by the Department of Posts, which is a government agency responsible for providing postal services in India. These stamps feature a wide variety of themes, including historical figures, cultural and religious symbols, natural landscapes, and scientific and technological advancements. Some of the popular themes of Indian stamps include Mahatma Gandhi, Indian wildlife, Indian architecture, and Indian festivals. India has a rich history of philately and has issued stamps since 1854.

India Post also releases special commemorative stamps on various events, personalities, achievements and anniversaries which are of national and international importance. These stamps are usually printed in limited quantities and are sought after by stamp collectors.

India also releases a series of stamps called My Stamp which allows customers to customize their own stamp by uploading a photograph and a personal message. These stamps can be used for postage and also make for a unique souvenir.
